WINTER WONDERLAND! 2-2-11

The Chicago area as much of the country got hit by a blizzard the night of Feb. 1. The day before that we already had a few inches of snow on the ground.  With that added we had nearly 2 feet of snow quickly overnight. My family, as we often do, slept in late. We all expected to get outside and start shoveling when we woke up. Some neighbors were already clearing their sidewalks and driveways when I woke up to a knock at the door. Still upstairs in my pajamas I listened to the conversation below in our front hall. Two young men were offering to clear most of our snow for forty bucks. My wife Linda said, "No way!" They said, "Thirty". Linda was silent and then my son (18) Mike said. "I'll pay part of it". Linda was happy to hear that and they went to work.
After they finished we still had more to do widening the driveway and sidewalk to normal width but it was a lot easier than doing the whole job. My snow blower was not working so just shoveling would have been no fun.

Beautiful to look at and I still love winter!
