Please take a look at the Stefan Behringer's incredible HELLBOY art collection at comicartfans! [link]

Thanks a lot! I put a lot of work into that commission. I really enjoy working in watercolor and will do more, but probably not painted comics. They'd take me forever :-).

Do I even NEED to tell you how amazing this is!? No! I don't think I do. I'm sure either it has already been said in as many ways possible or you already KNOW it! If not, you damn well should!
:worship::bow:
But, alas I'll give it a whirl. The fact that this was done with india ink and a crow quill just blows me MIND!! And gouache!? With my ignorance, I'll admit I had to look it up. I always appreciate traditional art mediums FAR more then digital ones. They have so much more life and depth.
Keep up the amazing work!

Thanks a lot Meghan :-)

Gouache is sort of like pigmented watercolor. You can use it more opaquely like acrylics, oils, etc., but here I watered it down to be semi-transparent. I really only used it here with the black and gray washes that are under the regular watercolor. Plus some small color touch-ups in the end.
You can easily see this in the steps I posted.

Give it a whirl! And I think the more you master traditional mediums only makes for better digital work.
